New Music from Shkodra Elektronike, Miriana Conte, Monokate and more

The Eurovision 2026 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 51

Shkodra Elektronike – “Fosforon”

The duo Shkodra Elektronike represented Albania in this year’s Eurovision. With Festivali i Këngës—the festival through which Albania selects its Eurovision participant—taking place this weekend, Eurovision fans had the chance to see the duo perform again during the Final night on Saturday. The song is an EDM track made to raise the volume in the club, while also delivering Albanian authenticity through its traditional influences. The lyrics say: “Rest rest / Glass body / The season of trust has come / The snow is falling and killing you / It’s falling and killing you / It’s falling and they killed you,” adding a darker touch to this week’s playlist.

Tina Karol – “Шиншила”

This week starts with Tina Karol, the superstar who competed for Ukraine in 2006. Her newest song is called “Chinchilla”, a powerful pop track filled with feminine energy and sensual office aesthetics. The song will serve as the title track of her upcoming album Love. Tears. Manifesto, celebrating 20 years of her career. Tina has always sung about her own life experiences—love, loss, strength, resilience, and faith—and the upcoming album is no exception. The project includes 33 of the singer’s most famous compositions, which have become undisputed hits.

“Chinchilla” is set in a cold, wintery atmosphere and speaks about sins and betrayals, with the chorus saying: “This crazy winter has dusted it with snow, / I sewed you myself, I sinned, Chinchilla. / This blizzard – winter has dusted it with snow. / I sewed you myself, / I bewitched the chinchilla.” The song was initially released by Tina in Russian, and this version is performed in Ukrainian. The upcoming album will feature 13 songs that were originally released in Russian and are now translated into Ukrainian.

About her upcoming album, Tina said:

“Love. Tears. Manifesto is an album about love as support, about tears as experience and about the inner manifesto as the strength of a woman.”

Joost & Vieze Asbak – “Latin Gabber”

Joost is the Dutch star selected to represent the Netherlands last year. He is known for his Europop tracks in which he introduces the Dutch gabber style, a subgenre of hardcore. And yes, if you like electronic music, this one is for you. But as we find out from the title, this track comes with a Latino twist. Who would have imagined that the extremely fast tempo of gabber would work so well with trumpets from Latino music? The lyrics highlight the differences between rich and poor through the experience of a Latin trip: “Siesta, fiesta, but they have no stress / Mi casa es su casa / I just want an empanada / City centre, nice / But some people they have nada / Why you want the Prada / I just want an enchilada”.

Miriana Conte – “Napoletana”

Miriana is the Maltese diva who competed in this year’s Eurovision edition. Her new release brings strong Italian aesthetics, referencing Napoli and a Neapolitan woman. The pop track she dropped this week is sung in both English and Italian and speaks about a powerful, beautiful woman not everyone can approach. She is here to conquer once again: “Limoncello kisses on my titties from my misses, / When they ask me where I come from, / I just tell em’ out of town.” Get ready for this Italian confidence booster. With this track, Miriana offers a taste of what it means to be a Napoletana, celebrating her roots, as she is half Maltese and half Italian. She’s serving pasta, she’s serving limoncello, she’s serving vibes.

Cédric feat. Ben Cristovao – “Nepozná se sama”

Ben represented Czechia in Eurovision under the stage name Benny Cristo. He was initially selected in 2020, when the contest was cancelled, but returned to compete in 2021. This week, he released a collaboration with Cédric titled “She Doesn’t Recognize Herself.” After a year packed with releases, Ben still has surprises to offer his fans. Get ready to dance to this pop track and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how the song came to life, revealed through the music video.

Blue – “Candlelight Fades”

Blue is the group that represented the United Kingdom in 2011. The song will be part of their upcoming album Reflection, set to drop in January. This week’s track is a pop ballad about being there for your loved one until the very end, until “the candlelight fades,” through thick and thin. The song carries a cozy vibe, perfect for the season, and delivers a beautiful message that might bring tears to your eyes. And, of course, the group’s flawless vocal harmonies make it even more special.

Monokate – “Щедрий вечор”

Monokate is the front woman of Go_A, who were initially selected to represent the country in 2020, when the contest was cancelled due to the pandemic. They returned in 2021 and remained in Eurovision history with their iconic style that mixes traditional music with a modern sound. After recently releasing a few solo songs, this week Monokate treats us to “Generous Evening.” The title of the song refers to a Ukrainian holiday, also known as Malanka, which celebrates New Year’s Eve. The track is a perfect winter carol, blending alt-pop with traditional music and a traditional vocal style, creating a beautiful balance between modernity and heritage while keeping ancient traditions alive and carried through time.

Ruslana – “Гей, Маланка”

Ruslana won Eurovision for Ukraine in 2004. With her new song, she brings back Ukrainian winter traditions. The track is called “Hey, Malanka”, with Malanka being a local holiday in Ukraine that celebrates New Year’s Eve. The song has a festive feel, blending rock, pop, and tradition into one powerful mix. With this release, Ruslana takes an ancient custom and introduces it through a completely fresh, modern sound. As winter and caroling season approaches, her schedule is packed with Christmas shows, where this traditional carol will also find its place in the setlist.

Manizha – “Krestyanin”

Manizha took part in Eurovision 2021. Her new song brings Balkan Christmas core and talks about money, with humorous lyrics showing that sometimes being materialistic isn’t so bad—and Manizha is not taking no for an answer. Get ready for colourful headscarves, Balkan instruments, and plenty of pickles—even pickled money. This track will shake up your holiday spirit and transport you to the charm of rural celebrations.

Zlata Ognevich – “Пристрасть”

Zlata represented Ukraine in 2013. “Passion” is an emotional ballad, a song that Zlata hadn’t shared on social media for over 15 years. Now, with its wintery sound, it’s the perfect time to release this new recording. The song evokes nostalgia and unlocks memories from the past.

KALUSH & AGAPE – “Ніч догорає”

Oleg Psiuk, known by his stage name KALUSH, competed for Ukraine in 2022 as part of Kalush Orchestra, winning the contest. Over the past year, Oleg has engaged in a series of collaborations with fellow Ukrainian artists to support and promote them. This week, he reunites with AGAPE, an artist he has worked with before, proving that their musical styles blend perfectly. The song, titled “The Night’s Burning Down”, is a deep, atmospheric track about trust, faith, and inner silence, leaving everyone alone with their thoughts. The lyrics speak about time that cannot be postponed “for later,” the power of being authentic, and a love that needs no laws or permissions: “The night is burning down / I close in on myself / Lanterns shine in my window / And above us the moon walks alone / And in the yard in spring it smells so much of love.”

Ivana Boom Nikolić – “Amajlija”

Ivana was part of the former line-up of the Serbian girl group Hurricane. The group was initially selected to represent their country in 2020, when the contest was cancelled, and returned in 2021. Her newest song, “Amulet”, is a Balkan ballad accompanied by a cinematic music video that is sure to impress. It marks a shift in her musical style, moving away from the turbo-folk sound she was previously known for. The music video is filled with symbols: fire, ruins, a tornado, like a metaphor for all the things we have to go through in our lives.

About her newest release, Ivana said:

“End of a chapter. The beginning of something new. A song I’ve been preparing for a long time – emotional, energetic and sincere. (…) For a long time I have been thinking about giving you a part of myself that I haven’t shown so much until now, I think this is the right time of the year to do something like that!”

Olena Topolia – “25 годин”

Under the stage name Alyosha, Olena represented Ukraine in 2010. Her newest release, “25 Hours,” is a powerful rock track that surprises with its difference from Olena’s previous work. The lyrics speak about how sometimes 24 hours are not enough, especially when you live life to the fullest and want to take in everything it has to offer.

About the switch in genres, Olena said:

“I felt that it was time to light up. I have always loved rock. There will always be a place for tenderness and acoustics. But now I want my music to shake the walls and burn the eyes.”

Celine Van Heel feat. Alfred García – “Tu”

Alfred represented Spain in 2018 in a duet with Amaia. This week, he releases a duet with Celine Van Heel, the Dutch-Spanish artist known to the Eurovision community for her participation in Benidorm, Spain’s national selection, last year. Their collaboration, “You”, is a Spanish ballad that feels like a waltz for lovers. The song is part of Celine’s debut album, NAUFRAGE.

Tahrip feat. feat. Ferman Akgül – “DÜŞLERİN MEZARLIĞI”

Ferman competed in Eurovision for Turkey in 2010 as the vocalist of the rock band MaNga. This week, he collaborates with Tahrip on “Cemetery of Dreams”. The track will feature on Tahrip’s upcoming album, set to be released next year. About the song? Who says rock music and rap don’t mix well? This track proves they go together perfectly, with lyrics that speak about a world where dreams are broken and trampled on.

Poli Genova – “Моята душа”

Poli is the Bulgarian star known to Eurovision fans for representing her country twice—first in 2011 and then again in 2016. “My Soul” is a powerful pop track that comes with an intriguing music video, featuring drawing insertions here and there to create a unique visual effect. The song is about finding yourself again, even in moments when you feel completely lost. The chorus goes: “Hear me – it’s me, Echo! / I’m getting lost, but I’m finding myself, right? / It’s written, do you believe it? / Hear me, I’m here, Echo! / And I walk on the path that leads me / Forward / So that I can reach you.”

About her new release, Poli said:

“I’ve been waiting for a long time to come back. ‘My Soul’ helped me find the light and move forward. It is my new beginning, the new page I start writing on today.”

NAVIBAND – “Пачынаем жыць”

NAVIBAND competed in Eurovision 2017. They are back with an acoustic song carrying a winter vibe, called “Let’s Start Living”. The track raises deep questions, with lyrics that say: “When through the pink smoke / You see what is so important / Why do we start to live / When death passes by? / Only then do we start to live.” It is a song that urges people to open their eyes and live differently, to cherish what truly matters while there is still time. In the music video, this time, we see only Kseniya from the band. The song was one of the tracks not selected for the album the band released earlier this year, finding its perfect moment to be shared now. Deeply emotional in meaning, Kseniya has said that the song helped her heal, and now she feels ready to share it with others as well.

AISEL & Brilliant Dadaşova – “Ayrı Düşdük”

Back in 2018, AISEL represented Azerbaijan. This week, she collaborated with Azerbaijani music icon Brilliant Dadaşova. The music video shows the two artists performing together with a band, while the track brings forward the essence of Azerbaijani folk music. Titled “We Feel Apart”, the song speaks about a love that failed, yet whose remnants still remain: “Our eyes, our hands fell apart / Our paths, our traces fell apart / Our words, our voices fell apart / We fell apart, even though our feelings, our feelings lived.”

Koit Toome & Anne Veski – “Pole vaja muud”

Koit represented Estonia twice. His first participation was in 1998, and then in 2017 he returned in a duet with Laura. This week, he has dropped another duet, this time with Anne Veski. Their track is called “Nothing Else Needed.” Get ready for a retro journey with this pop dance song. The duet brings two contrasts together, nostalgia and joy, resulting in an addictive track you’ll want to keep on repeat.

ISAAK – “Holy Water”

ISAAK represented Germany in last year’s Eurovision edition. This week, he returns with a pop track full of radio potential, speaking about moments when you feel like you’re drowning. With a modern pop sound, the song is there for those who feel like they can’t make it through. Its lyrics remind us that there is nothing wrong with admitting that you need help.

Sunstroke Project – “dancing like it’s 74”

Sunstroke Project are back! They represented Moldova in 2010 and 2017, and this week they bring us a retro pop song inspired by a nostalgic fever for the past—traveling back to the ’70s, spending nights dancing until the sun comes up, and living wild. And if you’re wondering, yes, of course this pop track comes with a sax solo too. All the ingredients of an addictive Sunstroke Project song are here.

Jalisse – “TARATATA”

The husband-and-wife duo Jalisse represented Italy back in 1997. They bring the Italian summer back with a joyful track, accompanied by a music video. The song is about the desire to escape from time to time and free yourself from routine. It was one of the tracks submitted to Carlo Conti for the upcoming Sanremo 2026, but it was rejected for the 29th time.

With its modern sound, the song tells a story infused with the irony that defines Jalisse today more than ever—an irony that is never banal, but lighthearted and rooted in everyday life. Every year, when the Sanremo lineup is announced, their reaction on social media is eagerly awaited, and their posts become more viral with each edition. Last year, they popped beers live on Instagram, while this year’s skit featured them blowing up red balloons to celebrate their “29th birthday… no.”

Kati Wolf – “Jobb később, mint soha!”

We end this week’s round-up with Kati, who represented Hungary in 2011. Her song, “Better Late Than Never”, was created as the official theme song for RTL’s self-produced series with the same name, starring Imre Csuja, Péter Scherer, Sándor Badár, Attila Epres, and Fecó Frohner, with scenes from the series featured in the music video. The song delivers a powerful message about how it’s never too late to celebrate and truly enjoy life.

Kati added:

“The song holds a special place in my heart because it was written for the atmosphere and story of the series, full of life, humor, depth, and realizations that may be familiar to all of us.”
